After installation, the aftermarket steering wheel was professionally inspected and tested. All relevant vehicle systems were checked to rule out faults on the car itself, including the fuse, clock spring, wiring, connections, and heated steering wheel control system.
The steering wheel is otherwise functioning correctly. The LED shift lights work properly, and the paddle shifters operate normally.
However, the heated steering wheel function is faulty. Diagnostic testing produced an active U1446-00 fault code: “Implausible Heated Steering Wheel Temperature Message Received.” The heating function turns on briefly and then automatically switches off.
To confirm the source of the problem, the original OEM steering wheel was reinstalled and tested, and the heated steering wheel system operated correctly. This confirms that the fault is associated with the aftermarket steering wheel itself rather than the vehicle.
Overall, the steering wheel’s LED shift-light and paddle-shifter functions are working, but the heated steering wheel function is defective and requires repair or replacement by the manufacturer/seller.
The steering wheel is superb, very well made, high quality, a truly amazing look, excellent finish, stitching, leather, topstitching, carbon fiber, and glitter are all very well done. No complaints there; they followed the instructions and information quite well. Very fast production, only a one-month wait. The only two negative points are: the cruise control button wasn't the same as the one on my steering wheel. Upon delivery, there were two small buttons on the right side of the wheel: a small mode button and a mute button. This meant I had to modify the control mount to be able to use and integrate it. The second issue is the 12 o'clock marker (trim) painted purple in the center of the steering wheel; it's not centered, it's off-center. Those are the two flaws with this steering wheel. But otherwise, I'm very satisfied with the work.
Well worth the wait. It took longer than what I had expected but I wasn’t in a hurry. I installed this custom made to my specs steering wheel on a 2023 BMW X1. The quality and fit is excellent. It looks great and matches my black and blue stitching interior. I really like the carbon fiber. I highly recommend Carbon Clutch.
The steering wheel came out great however it did take much longer than expected and I did not get very good communication throughout the process. I’d also just like to note that the airbag cover was ordered in specified to have a black badge and it was just a regular Cadillac emblem. Otherwise overall well built very nice very clean work last comment I will say is if you consider the LED shift lights they are very bright at night and directly in front of you for myself. I had to put tint strips on it. To dull down the lights because I wear glasses and it was very hard to see you at night.
I loved the finish of the steering wheel, and the great communication. Also easy to install without any modifications. The only thing I wish it was better is the condition of the core they used. I noticed some of the OEM material was scratched or missing on the back and over the steering wheel controls.
Super nice I love the carbon fiber and the the details on it , I bought one for my bf for Valentine’s Day and now I want one for myself , there was a little delay in the shipping process but overall the product did not disappoint 👍
