Hyundai's N division has produced some of the most genuinely enthusiast-focused performance cars of the last decade. The Elantra N, Ioniq 5 N, Kona N, Veloster N, and i30 N are precision-engineered driver's cars with mechanical limited-slip differentials, sophisticated adaptive dampers, and steering tuned for feedback. The Genesis G70, G80 Sport, and GV80 add luxury performance to the lineup. All of these platforms benefit from a carbon fiber steering wheel upgrade — one that matches the seriousness of the engineering beneath.

What Makes the N Platform Stand Out for This Upgrade
Hyundai N engineers specifically tune their cars' electric power steering to provide more feedback than most competitors. The Elantra N and Veloster N have drawn repeated comparisons to Golf R and Civic Type R for steering feel. Upgrading to an Alcantara carbon fiber steering wheel enhances what's already there — the grip texture gives the driver more information at the fingertips during threshold braking and cornering, and the weight reduction improves how quickly the wheel responds to inputs.
For Ioniq 5 N owners specifically: the instant torque delivery and near-zero steering weight at speed means grip texture and hand feel matter more than on a traditional ICE car. An Alcantara grip provides a more planted, connected feel compared to the factory synthetic leather.
Recommended Configurations for Hyundai N
Flat-Bottom Carbon Fiber with Alcantara
The N division's performance identity makes the flat-bottom Alcantara combination the natural choice. The factory N wheel already uses a slightly sportier grip profile than standard Hyundai — our carbon version maintains that intent while adding real carbon spoke panels.
Stitching Colors
- Red stitching — the N division's signature color; matches the N Performance red interior stitching found on Elantra N, Kona N, and Veloster N sport packs
- Blue stitching — references Hyundai N's blue color identity (Performance Blue is an N signature color); popular on Performance Blue Elantra N and Veloster N builds
- Black stitching — for stealth builds or Genesis G70/G80 owners who want a more understated upgrade
Genesis G70 Fitment Notes
The Genesis G70 is one of the most underappreciated driver's cars available — rear-wheel-drive, available with a 3.3T twin-turbo or 2.0T, and co-developed with input from Porsche engineers who worked on the 918 project. The G70's steering is linear and communicative in a way few sub-$50k cars can match. Our carbon fiber wheel upgrade is particularly compelling for G70 owners because the factory wheel doesn't reflect the car's performance character — the leather is standard quality and the spoke construction is conventional plastic-core. A carbon fiber upgrade closes that gap immediately.
Genesis G70 (first and second generation), G70 Shooting Brake, and G80 Sport all use compatible steering column fitments. Contact us to confirm the specific connector type for your model year before ordering.
Installation Notes for Hyundai N and Genesis
Hyundai N and Genesis platforms use an airbag system similar to other Korean and global manufacturers. The steering wheel swap follows the standard procedure:
- Disconnect battery — wait 15 minutes for airbag capacitor discharge
- Release airbag clips through rear access ports using appropriate Torx driver
- Disconnect yellow airbag connector, horn connector, and any audio/cruise controls
- Remove center bolt — mark shaft alignment first
- Transfer airbag to new wheel
- Reinstall, torque center bolt to spec, reconnect battery
- Clear airbag codes with a Hyundai/Genesis-compatible OBD-II scanner (BlueLink-compatible tools work well)
Hyundai N and Genesis FAQ
Does the Ioniq 5 N steering wheel swap affect the regen paddles?
The Ioniq 5 N uses steering wheel-mounted regen paddles (left and right for regen strength). Our Ioniq 5 N-compatible wheels are available with provision for these paddle mounts. Contact us before ordering to confirm the regen paddle configuration for your specific build.
Does the Elantra N have the same fitment as the standard Elantra?
The Elantra N uses a different steering wheel mounting from the standard Elantra. The N models have a sportier column spec — always order based on the N variant specifically, not the standard model.
Do you ship to Australia and New Zealand?
Yes. We ship internationally. The i30 N and Veloster N are popular there, and we regularly fill orders from those markets. Delivery typically takes 10–16 business days.
